Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. We operate a private reference service and cannot obtain a record, certify a copy, establish who lives at an address, or remove information from an official roll. Send those requests to the office that keeps the record. For an emergency, call 911. If someone is stalking or harassing you, contact local police.
Need a Particular Record?
Use the route that matches the record and the question:
- Property or a named street: use the Garfield Heights By Street directory for the parcel, deed, and address-record sequence.
- Older directory editions or a past household: use the Garfield Heights City Directories collection route.
- A defined name question: use the Garfield Heights Resident Lookup route and its custodian checks.
- County offices behind common records: see the Garfield Heights resident records offices.
- An unavailable city record: request the existing document under the Ohio Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, from the city department or custodian that holds it.
Garfield Heights city public-records route: Email PublicRecordsRequest@garfieldhts.org or contact the relevant city department. The Law Department asks requesters to identify the record clearly, and notes that fees may apply. Give the department, record type, date range, and address, parcel, case, or document number when available.
Building and permit records: the Building Department is at 5407 Turney Road, second floor, Garfield Heights, OH 44125; 216-475-3835; Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.; buildingdept@garfieldhts.org. This is the city route for permit and project-address context, not a complete resident list.
Other custodians: Cuyahoga Fiscal Office recorded documents and property records, the Board of Elections, Municipal Court, Clerk of Courts, Probate Court, County Archives, and libraries each control their own copies, requests, access limits, and current fees. Directing a request to the right custodian is the fastest way to receive an accurate response.
